Mawlid in the City

Project Nile has taken part in the Mawlid in the City project alongside As-Siraat, a community organisation,  which is part of celebrations held worldwide to celebrate the birth (mawlid) of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon Him), the founder of the Islamic faith some 1400 years ago in Arabia.

Over recent years, Muslims have seen the religion of Islam hijacked by extremism and an increasingly negative media bias which affects us on a day-to-day basis. We believe one of the most effective responses is to incorporate the Prophetic Example by addressing negativity, discrimination and hatred through displaying peace, compassion and respect.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

What are our aims and objectives? We have a goal to spread peace and happiness.

Coordinating events worldwide to spread an awareness of the true message

A worldwide phenomena taking place spreading love, happiness and peace

Printing and giving out cards with information on the Final Messenger to create clarity and address any misconceptions

Discussions to allow the public to have a better understanding of the Final Messenger

A Collective movement

Although Mawlid in the City is not an overnight solution, it is a collective movement which has the potential to make a ground-breaking impact worldwide, with the help of community.

People to people, we can make a difference. One heart at a time, we firmly believe we can gradually change the views and opinions of the misinformed in society, through positivity, truth and action.
